Day 8

- Different country for each meal! 3 countries today!
- Breakfast buffet in Poland, lunch in Slovakia, supper in Hungary.
- Saw the Tatr Mountains and drove through!
- Through the villages we passed tractors, chickens, goats, horses and sheep.
- Supper of bread, goulash, rice. and chocolate eclair for dessert.
- Shopping and free time
Day 9
- 19700 steps,29*C our hottest day
- Breakfast buffet and then bus tour. Explored Hero Square which is the site of celebrations and royalty. Hungarian film Sing won Oscars and was recommended by our tour guide to watch.
- Visited Castle Hill and overview of the city shoreline. Amazing scenery!
- Toured Matthias Church on Castle Hill. Incredible architecture!
- Baths in mineral water. Included a not so lazy river, hot pools, warm pools, cold pools, steam rooms, and massage fountains.
- Supper of veggie soup, chicken and potatoes with a mushroom onion sauce. There was spice cake with chocolate syrup for dessert.
- Boat ride view of the lit up Cityline from the Danube. Surreal! In the hike there, passed he shoes of the murdered Jews on the water’s edge.
Day 10

My hope is that this website helps facilitate discussion and sharing by the participants with others. It’s difficult to keep track of what happens from day to day, because so much ground is covered in a day, I even have a hard time remembering what the first hotel shower was like! It seems like a month ago!
What an adventure we’ve had! I’m so proud of how the students were so flexible, and courageous! There were game to try new activities, function in multiple currencies, pay for washrooms (no small task), responsible when needing to meet at a certain time, and try new food put in front of them! I hope this gives them a sample taste of travelling and the courage and skills to do more. May you all continue to dream, love, and pray! Ms.S
